I design nutritional food plans that incorporate/suggest eating whole, unprocessed foods in conjunction with basic food combining theory in order to facilitate proper digestion. I encourage my clients to embrace healthy nutrition as a lifestyle and not a "prescription" or a set of rules. Health is multi-dimensional, and food is only one spoke of the wheel, yet still an important part. However, everything we put in our bodies directly influences our over-all health status. Therefore, a lifestyle that includes healthy nutrition/food choices, positive thoughts, an open mind, and a willingness to grow & learn leads one to vibrant living and decreased risk for disease.
It is important to remember that it isn't about being perfect, but rather about doing the best that you can, or just doing better than before. Every meal, day, week, etc. lead you to new opportunities to make better decisions than your previous ones, and allow you to learn from mistakes.
My goals and responsibilities as a holistic nutritionist are to learn about my clients, to educate them, and to work with them on a level that meets their needs, instead of giving each unrealistic, cookie-cutter food plans. Understanding where my clients are in their journeys to better health is essential for their success in achieving their goals. This will ultimately lead them to happier, healthier lifestyles.
